What the project does

BCHA (Bournemouth Churches Housing Association) is a specialist housing and social care support provider, offering a wide range of help to people in vulnerable circumstances and to professionals trying to equip those in need. Bournemouth-based, we work across a wide geographical area (including Dorset, Hampshire, Devon, Wiltshire, Reading and increasingly into Hampshire). We have over 40 years’ experience of helping homeless and other vulnerable people access the right housing, health, learning and work opportunities.

We have approximately 1950 units of owned and leased accommodation, split down into General Needs Properties, Supported Housing and a number of Care Homes. The supported housing schemes cover the following areas of specialism:

  • Children, Young People and Families
  • Domestic Violence
  • Homelessness Services
  • Offender Accommodation
  • Substance Misuse
  • Mental Health

In addition we provide floating support services to approximately 200 people at any given time.

BCHA also has an extensive learning services team whose job it is to work with our customers to make them employment ready. This could be attending job search sessions, confidence building classes through to engaging with local employers to seek employment and volunteering opportunities.
